The current challenge is to understand and showcase a bespoke business model innovation tool which is aimed at Large Established Organisations (LEOs) to understand their digital transformation. In this context, the research question is what are the comparative differences of business model innovation in LEOs? The phases are to:
- Develop a set of cards which are developed by DIGIT Lab team members (January 2023)
- Host and test the cards with LEOs (March/ April 2023)
- Review the outcomes and then develop printed (June 2023) and online versions (October 2023)
We are currently at the stage of developing the set of questions to feed into the card deck. Qualitative case study research will be conducted once the tool has been developed to understand the comparative differences between the LEOs. The analysis and follow-up of the case studies will lead to an analysed data set on the business model innovation opportunities in LEOs. The outputs that we propose are for a paper on a taxonomy of business model innovation in LEOs (July 2024) and a book which will be a guide to business model innovation in LEOs (December 2024).
