We are currently recruiting for fully-funded places to start in London in January 2022
Applications are made for entry to the 4-year training programme, including both training in the fundamentals of Digital Economy and supervision of your PhD research. These will be based in central London offices of the DIGIT Lab.
Fully funded 4-year studentships are available for UK students, see below for information about international students. The funding provides tuition fees for the PhD programme including taught courses, an annual stipend (approx. £15,000), and a budget for attending conferences etc. .
Students must have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least 3 years prior to the start of the studentship. There are fees-only awards available to EU students that have not resided in the UK for 3 years prior to the start of the course. See more information here.
A limited number of studentships are available for exceptional international applicants. Self-funded students are welcome to apply.
Applications should be made via the University of Exeter’s studentships portal. You will be required to provide details of your academic record, employment history, and details for two referees.
Because the first year of the PhD programme is dedicated to training and exploring different areas of research, we do not require applicants to submit a research proposal. Instead we ask for a personal statement (approx 500 words) which should tell us about:
- why you are interested in the Digital Economy
- your interests, skills and experience and how they are applicable to the role of postgraduate researcher in Digital Economy
- your motivation for applying to this PhD programme
Applications must be submitted by 30th September 2021
All applications will be considered, and a recruitment panel will select a shortlist for interview shortly after the application deadline. Interviews will be held in October 2021.
