The next generation of data science and artificial intelligence experts from the University of Exeter have secured prestigious fellowships from The Alan Turing Institute. Members of the DIGIT Lab are amongst them.

The following members of the DIGIT Lab team are Turing Fellows, a summary of their research areas and a link to their university profiles has been provided below:

Alan Brown, DIGIT Lab Director and Professor in Digital Economy. His research interests include the relationship between technology innovation and business innovation.

Zena Wood, Senior Research Fellow. Her research interests include the application of Geographic Information Science techniques within the Digital Economy.

David Plans, Senior Lecturer in Organisational Neuroscience. His research interests include computational psychiatry models of stress and emotional resilience.

“Thirty-five researchers, spanning many disciplines and all six Colleges at Exeter, have received the Turing Fellowships, which begin on October 1st 2021.

A further five academics have retained their Fellowships through existing roles and projects with The Alan Turing Institute.

The 12-month Fellowships not only allow the academics to enhance their careers, but also help pioneer world-leading research in the field of data science. They support the researchers to spend a proportion of their time at The Alan Turing Institute headquarters in London where they will join a hub of world-leading data science and AI expertise drawn from across the Turing’s network of partners.”
