The DIGIT Lab Deputy Director, Professor Saeema Ahmed-Kristensen, participated as an invited panellist at the Circular Revolution 2021 event (Driving the Transition to a Circular Economy in Wales). This is an annual event bringing together industry, academia and government to showcase Wales at the forefront of the transition to a circular economy.
She joined Dr Matthew Davies (Swansea), Prof. Iain Donnison (Aberystwyth), Dr Graham Ormondroyd (Bangor) and Chair Prof. Sandra Esteves (University of South Wales), in a lively a cross-disciplinary discussion on the state of the art around Front End Innovation, and the role of design, materials, technology in Circular Economy.
The intention of the event was to share cutting edge research, discover the environmental and economic opportunities enabled through the circular economy, how circularity is being put into practice and discuss the Welsh circular economy strategy – Beyond Recycling.
