Exploring Design Creativity
You are being invited to take part in an academic research study. Before you decide to participate in this study, it is important that you understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. This survey will take about 15-40 minutes to complete. Please take the time to read the following information carefully.
Purpose of the research
Creativity plays a significant role in design engineering. This research project is aimed at exploring how humans perform in design creativity tasks, such as problem clarification and idea generation, as well as comparing with AI-generated results.
Procedures of this study
In this study, a qualitative survey, you are expected to complete 5 tasks in total: 2 problem clarification tasks and 3 idea generation tasks. All the answers would need to be made in text only. Here is a link to Qualtrics privacy policy https://www.qualtrics.com/privacy-statement/.
Voluntary participation and your right to withdraw
Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary. You are under no obligation to take part and you may stop at any time before the end of the survey. If you stop before completing the survey your information will not be saved and you will not have completed the survey. Withdrawal after participation is not possible as your responses, once submitted; will not be identifiable to the researcher to enable removal from the data set.
Anonymity
Your name and contact details are not provided by the survey referrer Qualtrics to the researcher. Your responses to this survey are therefore anonymous. Your responses to this survey are not subject to GDPR as there is no personally identifiable data.

The Results (Stay Informed)
Your survey data (responses to this survey) will be used in future research and made available to other research projects, once the investigator team has completed the project. As the survey is fully anonymous, no specific personal information such as name and contact details to identify you will be collected or shared.
